Global Studies and World languages Academy Creative Writing Portfolio Requirements The final evaluation for the Global Studies World languages Academy Creative Writing class will be based on the following components of the portfolio that each student has maintained throughout the semester course as well as the each student’s:
Contribution to the individual writing workshop sessions and discussions
Maintenance of his/her wikispace on a weekly basis
Inclusion of all assigned pieces (whether in draft or final) on the wikispace
Completeness of in-class readings
The portfolio itself will need to include all of the following to be considered complete:
An annotated table of contents which gives a brief description of each piece in the portfolio
A reflective letter at the beginning of the portfolio that describes the writer’s reasons for taking the creative writing course, successes and understandings that may have come out of his or her participation in the course, anticipated uses of the knowledge gained in the course, and individual goals for the near future with creative writing.
All of the following compositional pieces including but not limited to-at least three poems two of which must be a villanelle and sonnet, one non-fiction piece, one fiction piece, at least three in-class improvisational pieces that may or may not be in final form, at least one multimedia powerpoint presentation, and at least a rough draft of the final drama project on creating a synopsis and scene for a one act play.

Presentation of the portfolio on the exam day as part of the exit exam for the course.
The presentation of the final portfolio will include selected readings from the portfolio, any new work that may not have been discussed in writer’s workshop, visual aids as needed in the presentation of new or selected multimedia presentations of the portfolio pieces, completeness of the portfolio, and professionalism of the presentation by way of poise, language, speech, attitude, and delivery. The final presentation and finalization of the GSWLA Creative Writing portfolio whould reflect the writer’s commitment to her or his craft as well as the commitment she or he has made to the semester long.Good luck and do your best!
